Unc Swift

Unc Swift

Delivered at the speed of the streets

Documentation

1. Getting started

Unc Swift is one platform, three apps. Everything below applies whichever one you use.

  • Customers browse restaurants and vendors, order food, and track delivery live, either from uncswift.com as a guest or from the Unc Swift customer app.
  • Restaurants and vendors manage their storefront, menu, orders and billing from RestMan, the partner dashboard at restman.uncswift.com.
  • Couriers accept and deliver orders from the Unc Swift Courier app, earning the delivery fee for every order as soon as it is marked delivered.

2. Ordering & tracking

Browse restaurants and vendors near you on the Order online page. Each restaurant page shows their photo gallery, rating, delivery time, delivery fee and full menu with item photos and descriptions, pulled live from what that restaurant has set up, the same data their own RestMan dashboard and the customer app read from.

Add items to your cart, one restaurant at a time (starting a cart from a second restaurant replaces the first, same rule as the app). Once a courier is assigned to your order, you can watch their live location on the tracking map, on the website and in the app, with the same status steps: placed, preparing, out for delivery, arrived, delivered.

3. Guest checkout & the app

Checkout on the website offers exactly two paths, there is no separate website account or password:

  • Guest checkout. Place your order with just a phone number and delivery address, no account needed.
  • Continue in the app. If you already have, or install, the Unc Swift customer app, this opens it directly. Sign in or join with the same email you used at checkout and your cart, address and order carry straight over, no re-entering anything. If the app is not installed, this takes you to its listing on the Apps page, install it, then sign in or create an account with that same email to pick up exactly where you left off.

Saved addresses, order history, rewards and vouchers only exist inside the app, since the website never creates an account of its own.

4. How pricing works

Restaurants, vendors and couriers each subscribe to a monthly plan. Every plan starts with a 7 day free trial, billed monthly after that, and can be changed at any time. Customers never pay a subscription, only their order subtotal plus a delivery fee shown up front.

PlanAudiencePrice
StarterSmall kitchens & home-based food sellers$4.99/mo
ProHigh-volume diners & commercial cafes$9.99/mo
EstablishedMulti-branch franchises & fast-food chains$19.99/mo
Basic (courier)Part-time couriers, casual delivery riders$4.99/mo
Express (courier)Full-time couriers, professional delivery riders$9.99/mo

See the pricing page for the full benefit breakdown of each tier. Billing always happens in USD through PayPal Subscriptions; prices shown elsewhere on the site are converted for reference only. Upgrades apply immediately, downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing cycle, and free trials can be cancelled at no charge before the trial ends.

5. Documents & verification

Verification keeps everyone on Unc Swift safe. Documents are uploaded once during onboarding, in RestMan for restaurants and vendors or the courier app for couriers, and reviewed within one business day.

Restaurant & vendor documents

What you need to upload depends on your plan.

Starter

National ID / Passport

Pro

National ID / Passport, Business / Company Registration, Municipal Health Certificate

Established

National ID / Passport, Business / Company Registration, Municipal Health Certificate, Tax Clearance Certificate

Courier documents

Every courier, on either plan, needs to provide:

Driver's license

Front and back scan. Compulsory for every courier, no exceptions.

National ID or Passport

Optional, but speeds up verification. ID needs front and back, passport just the photo page.

Vehicle details

Make, model, year, colour and plate number. If the vehicle is not yours, we also collect the owner’s name and your relationship to them instead of proof of ownership.

A selfie

Taken in the app, used to match against your documents and to keep your public courier profile accurate.

6. Billing & payment methods

Paying for an order

Cash on delivery is accepted everywhere and is the only method a website guest checkout settles today. Signed in customers on the app can also set the Unc Swift Wallet (restaurant issued credit) as their default method. Card, mobile money and other rails can be saved as a preference in the app, but every order currently settles as cash on delivery until a payment gateway integration goes live, at which point your saved preference is honoured automatically with no extra setup. Some restaurants restrict which methods they accept, this is always shown before you check out.

If a subscription payment fails

This applies to restaurant, vendor and courier plan billing, not customer orders. If a monthly payment fails, your account is not suspended immediately:

  • 0 to 48 hours: a notice appears in the app or RestMan. Every feature keeps working normally while you sort out payment.
  • After 48 hours: a stronger warning is shown and payment needs to be resolved to keep the account active. Support can help sort out a failed payment method at any point in this window.

7. Refunds & cancellations

Eligible issues, missing items, incorrect items, or an order that never arrives, qualify for a refund or credit. Request one from Order History in the customer app, or by contacting support with your order number if you checked out as a guest. Most refund decisions are made within 2 business days, and approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, or as Unc Swift Wallet credit for cash on delivery orders.

Full terms, including cancellation windows before a restaurant starts preparing your order, are in the refunds and cancellations policy.

8. Rewards and vouchers

Rewards and vouchers are a customer benefit, available in the Unc Swift customer app under Rewards and Vouchers. There is currently no rewards program for couriers, and nothing needs to be set up on the website, restaurants manage their own programs entirely from RestMan.

Rewards points

Points are per restaurant, not platform wide. Each participating restaurant funds and runs its own points program: order from that restaurant, earn points with them, and level up to unlock offers that restaurant specifically pays for. A restaurant that does not run a points program simply will not show a balance. Points and offers are managed entirely by the restaurant, Unc Swift does not set or fund them.

Vouchers

Vouchers are redeemable codes, either applied automatically at checkout or entered by hand, that are also set up per restaurant, plus occasional platform-wide promotions from Unc Swift itself (such as first-order discounts). Redeeming a voucher in the app generates a single-use code shown at pickup or delivery, it is not the same as the shareable promo code.

9. Delivery areas

We currently deliver in Windhoek, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, with Oshakati and Rundu onboarding local vendors ahead of launch. Check the locations menu in the navbar for the always up to date list, or your address at checkout, only serviceable addresses can complete an order.

10. Partner with us

List your restaurant or vendor business on Unc Swift through RestMan, the partner web dashboard at restman.uncswift.com. RestMan runs entirely in your browser, there is nothing to install. Complete onboarding, choose a plan (see section 4) and start receiving orders once your documents are verified, see Restaurant & vendor documents above.

11. Become a courier

Download the Unc Swift Courier app from the Apps page, complete verification (see Courier documents above) and choose a Basic or Express plan. Most couriers are approved within a day. There is no weekly payroll, you earn the delivery fee for every order as soon as it is marked delivered.

12. Support

Visit FAQ for quick answers, or contact us and we will get back to you within one business day. You can also reach support directly from Order History in either the customer or courier app.
